A Post from our Provincial Styles Website –
Yesterday we were so fortunate to be taken on a tour of the 4 apartments in The Block, Albert Park,. We arrived at 5.00 pm on the dot excited and ready to be wowed! We waited outside for our host to arrive taking the obligatory pics in front of the auction boards. I had my 3 kids with me and my sister and her daughters, all feeling like total tourists.
After a few minutes a guy on a motorbike drove by and did a u-turn. One of the kids said it was Scotty but taking a second look we decided it wasn’t. And then he pulled up outside….well! how excited were we! It really was Scotty and he was there to see us! Our host was running a few minutes late so he had sent Scotty to take care of us and have the million photos that were expected. He was just gorgeous! Fabulous with the kids and answering all our questions. He didn’t make it look like a chore at all. He took us inside to take a look at the pool area and we chatted for about 10 minutes, getting the updates on the new Block in Prahran, while the kids devoured every inch of the pool area.
Scotty then left us and our host took over where we proceeded to the first floor. We started with Dale and Brad’s apartment which was my sister’s favourite. We walked down the hall and were astounded to find Dale sitting on the arm of the sofa watching TV! Our day could have ended there! We were so excited. He was fabulous and suggested lots of photos with the kids. We had a chat then took a tour of their apartment. I have to admit that I prefer it in real life. TV does not do it justice. They really have done a stunning a job. I quietly asked our host if the boys had any help with styling and he assured me they hadn’t. I think there may have been a few quiet nights, Belle magazine in hand in the lead up to The Block.
We said our thanks and goodbyes to Dale and went on to Kyal and Kara and Alisa and Lysandra’s apartments. Both apartments were fabulous with the obvious timber features and That Void! We had a laugh that the ‘tea towel’ rug hadn’t been removed in the girls’ apartment and that Kyal’s favourite chair in the bedroom had been replaced. I think it was at this point that our host realised how much of fans we really were!
We then finished our tour at Chantelle and Steve’s apartment which started with a lot of wows and aaahhhs, especially when they spotted my cushion in the corner of the dining area. Known for its quirkiness, there is a real sense of personality in these rooms. Obviously I may be a little biased but I do love this apartment. The fact that Chantelle and Steve have stayed with their theme even after being discouraged by the judges is awesome. I could really see a family buying this one or perhaps a young couple.
After going through Sky High last year and being surprised at the size of the rooms compared to how they looked on tv, I was pleasantly surprised by these apartments. Most rooms were a great size and the height of the ceilings certainly gave a feeling of space. We all certainly have a favourite couple but overall every apartment was fabulous and they all deserve to do really well next Tuesday night. Bring on the auctions!
